Dylan van Baarle Wins Paris-Roubaix 2022

Van Baarle Claims Solo Victory in "Hell of the North"

119th Edition of the Classic Race Delivers Thrilling Finish

Dylan van Baarle of the Netherlands emerged victorious in the 119th edition of Paris-Roubaix, the iconic "Hell of the North" race. The Ineos Grenadiers rider crossed the finish line solo in the Roubaix velodrome, securing his first victory in the prestigious cobbled classic.

Van Baarle's triumph came after a grueling 257-kilometer race across some of cycling's most unforgiving terrain. With just under 18 miles remaining, he broke away from a leading group that included Yves Lampaert and Matej Mohorič.

Despite valiant chases from Wout van Aert and Stefan Küng, van Baarle held on to claim the victory in a record-setting time of 5 hours, 55 minutes, and 32 seconds. Van Aert finished second, while Küng took third place.

Van Baarle's win marked a historic moment for the Netherlands, making him the first Dutch rider to win Paris-Roubaix since Servais Knaven in 2001. It also marked a significant victory for Ineos Grenadiers, who have now won the race for the fourth time in the past seven years.

Paris-Roubaix 2022 was a thrilling edition of the classic race, with competitive racing and unpredictable conditions. Dylan van Baarle's solo victory will undoubtedly be etched into the annals of cycling history as one of the most memorable performances in the "Queen of the Classics."
